Flood Risk America Saves a Hotel!!

Commercial Real Estate

Commercial Real Estate

A large commercial real estate owner had a Hotel on the water, paying $105,000 for flood insurance.

Flood Risk America provided a complimentaryVulnerability Assessment, demonstrating how flooding and storm surge would affect the hotel, as well as incorporating the investigation of historical flooding. Flood Risk America then confirmed, from the Vulnerability Assessment, how the hotel could avoid future flood losses.

FRA installed flood panels on the ground floor lobby to protect the elevators and lobby from avoiding a flood loss. FRA then went back to the insurance carrier and provided a customized flood mitigation plan for the Hotel. The insurance carrier then reduced the flood premium by $76,000.

o  Cost of current annual flood premium:                         $105,000

o  Current savings with flood mitigation plan:                  $76,000

o  New current flood premium:                                         $29,000

“We saved hotel $76,000 on their Flood Insurance Premium.”

One of the reasons why you would want to choose FRA’s Flood Panels over any other company would be our outstanding customer service. Most companies will sell you a product, but how do you know each year that it will still work effectively? At Flood risk America every year we inspect the gaskets, panels, nuts, bolts, anchors, and parts, and maintain a 24/7-flood deployment service. We want to make sure our clients (You) are satisfied and prepared for Mother Nature’s surprises.

Our panels are lightweight, FEMA compliant, military grade, and come with a lifetime warranty. We knew that if this material was efficient enough for the military, in the haul of an icebreaker and marine vessels, than we could test it out as a superior FRA Flood Panel (Ask us for our testing video to see for yourself). We supply you with deployment blueprints, product and deployment training, and we can help you through FEMA funding. Overall, we are your one stop shop for any flood related concerns and would love the opportunity to protect you from any flood related damage.

FRA Flood Panel Specifications

The FRA Flood Panel uses sustainable flood seal technology to protect elevators, storefronts, windows, control room doors, unmovable equipment, etc., against rising floodwater. This device creates a sealed barrier around the openings preventing water from entering. Each panel is designed specifically for a customized fabrication to meet individual installation requirements and custom shaping and contouring to meet job specific demands.

It is both easy to install and remove, taking less than ten minutes. The FRA Flood Panel is the ONLY FEMA compliant, ISO certified, and insurance industry certified panel on the market. The FRA flood panel has the ability to lower insurance premiums and deductibles, give clients better coverage limits, and help them to obtain federal grant assistance for flood loss.

The FRA Flood Panel is durable, lightweight, corrosion resistant, cost-effective, and designed to withstand more than 13,000 PSI.  It was developed with technology utilized in aerospace, marine, transportation, and energy markets and scientifically developed to withstand harsh saltwater environments. It is made in America, has been rigorously tested by our certified team of engineers, and comes with a guaranteed lifetime warranty.

Some of the biggest differences between Flood Risk America’s flood panel and the competitors are the lightweight, corrosion-resistant surface, difference in price, moldable surface to secure an area, and the only flood panel certified by insurance companies.  The FRA Flood Panel is 4 times lighter than steel, which is what most flood panels are manufactured from, and it is 30- 40% less expensive.  The FRA Flood panel can be customized to fit any area or size, comes with a vulnerability assessment, and deployment blueprint.

Preparation for Flooding Emergency Step 1: Understanding Your Risk, Flood Risk Assessment

Flooding is devastating and is becoming a larger threat each year. With global warming, different weather patterns, and inaccuracy of flood maps, we must have a set plan in place to prepare for Mother Nature’s most common disaster.   There are 5 steps that will help you to prepare. The first step begins with determining your flooding risk.

Your community officials or local emergency management offices are a great resource to learn about the history of flooding for your region. Ask whether your property is in the floodplain and if it is above or below the flood stage water level. Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) are what are used to determine your flood risk. If these have proved inaccurate in the past, or you feel the flood insurance is higher than expected for your given area, make sure to contact a highly trained company who specializes in flood prevention assessment and flood map modeling.

Flood risk assessments are available to show you historical flooding on your property and information about flooding in a 100-year storm. If you are building or own a commercial property, more in-depth assessments are available to show you modeling in a 1-5 hurricane and storm surge for each year, along with a detailed report assessing your flooding risks.
